Getting starting is the hardest part of collecting NES games. You want to get games that are good enough to keep you interested, but also rare enough to impress your friends. Well smackdown gt is here to help you. Below are the games you should use to start your collection. All together, these 10 games will probably cost you around $50.
Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3, - Every collector should have these three classics. If you don't already have at least one of these then you probably shouldn't even be reading this site! Finding these games should be no problem and you can probably get all three for under $20.
Ninja Gaiden - Whether it be Ninja Gaiden 1,2 or 3, it makes no difference as long as you've got one of them on your shelf. These games are typically a little high, because everyone wants them, but can be typically found for under $10.
Double Dragon - Another classic that every collector needs. Double Dragon is common game with a low price tag, but it's also one of the greatest beat-em-ups ever released. Any of the three will work; they're all about the same.
One Tengen game - You know Tengen, the company with mostly black NES carts. If you're gonna have a real NES collection you need something that is unlicensed and Tengen games are by far the easiest to find. I recommend Rolling Thunder. It's the hardest game in the world, but it's fun to play.
Zelda 1 and 2 - Zelda is like, "the" NES game. In some states it's required by law that each citizen owns a copy Zelda.
Crash and the Boys: Street Challenge - This game is kinda rare, or at least uncommon, so it has a showoff value. Plus it's really fun to play, so you win both ways.
Super Spike V'ball - Another really fun game that's also out of the ordinary. This one can be found cheap to (I got mine for $5). The only bad thing about this game is there's way to much sausage.
So take this advice for what it's worth. This isn't meant to be a bible for NES newbies or anything, but keep it in mind if you're just starting to collect.
