tha nes smackdown has gone through many changes over the years. When i started this site in April of 1999 it was more information driven. Then I started adding bits of humor to the site and people seemed to like that more. The Funcoland Sucks section was what put tha smackdown on the map. I couldn't open my mailbox without getting fifty new additions from viewers. If tha smackdown was anything it was controversial. I would put up stuff I knew was gonna piss people off just to do it. I wanted tha nes smackdown to have a special personality. I wanted people to remember it. I feel like I accomplished that.
I know alot of people in the scene now days may have never heard of tha nes smackdown, and that I'll probably have to win my audience back over again. The site has truely evolved. I'm not the same kid I was when it first started. While going through all the old content some of the dumb stuff I'd written in the past amazed me. I mean really, how many references to South Park can a person insert into an article about Nintendo technical specifications? Basically all I want is for this site to succeed the way it did in the past. I used to get letters from people every week telling me about how I'd inspired them to start playing their NES again and I thought that was pretty cool. But maybe that was tha smackdown's peak. Maybe I'll look back and think of smackdown gt as a failure. It's very possible. But it's worth a shot.
