A Letter From Spazzoid

Many of you probably don't remember Spazzoid's NES Stuff, but back in 1998 it was one of the greatest NES sites out there. Spazzoid was like a God to his fans. I admired his site so much that I made my first NES site "NES HEAVEN" almost exactly like it. But as things often go, Spaz got too wrapped up in other things to keep the site up, so it went the way so many other NES sites have.

I hadn't seen or talked to Spaz since like January of 2000 when he went into a NES chatroom, so I was really suprised to get this letter. Although alot of you prolly have no idea who he is, I figured I'd put it up anyway for the few old skoolers still around who remember his site and have wondered whatever happened to him.

To Twitch, or whoever is in charge of the NES Smackdown...

Hello from Nick, or "the white boy previously known as Spazzoid." I have just spent two hours of a boring night shift looking through your website and laughing myself into tears. I hope that my site made people laugh the way this one did.

I suppose that the remainder of the NES scene is wondering about where I've been and what I'm doing, so here's a synopsis. After my site went down in early 1999, I was expelled from high school for protesting and got an extra month of summer vacation. Since I was too busy sneaking out of class and getting expelled in high school to apply for scholarships, I entered US Air Force Basic Military Training in July of 1999. After graduation, I was shipped to Mississippi for the six-month long weather forecaster's course and then shipped to St. Louis, MO. Last year, I received orders for an Army support assignment in South Korea and that is where I am stationed now. Prior to coming to Korea, I attended the three-month combat weather course back in Mississippi and a supplemental course at Camp Red Cloud, South Korea. I get out of the Air Force in two months and I refuse to re-enlist, even though the Air Force is offering me over $50,000 in addition to my regular salary.

I'd love to write more, man, but it's 12:27 AM Korean time (Which is 10:27 AM CST in the US) and I've got to go to bed so I can be back in at work tomorrow night. Keep up the good work on the site.

Nick
