Me and my friends were playing Excitebike today, when we decided to design our own tracks. We all designed a track or two before settling on one my friend Kevin made. We started seeing who could get the lowest time. After an hour of playing, the record came down to 29:37, set by Kevin. My four other friends and I tried for over an hour to break the record, and we came close, but none of us could beat it. This just built Kevin's ego more and more, before he finally went off the deap end, and started talking about how he had set the perfect score, and the record could not be beat.

So after everyone left I started playing again , but I still cannot beat his record. So I put it to you. Beat my friend's record, to prove him wrong and spite him.

If you want to play you will need to download the following small file. It contains the NES emu, Nester, the Excitebike rom, and the savestate for the level my friend made. When you open the wrong, just press F5 and it will load the track for you. Good luck. You will probably need it.

The Zip file you will need

If by some chance you are able to beat his record, take a snapshot of it by pressing your print screen sysrq button, paste it in paint (or whatever gfx program you use), save it, and send it to twitchyx@yahoo.com

UPDATE

My friend has been spited. Or something to that effect. Thats right, his low time was beaten by me! Check this out.

That is over a second better than his best time, and what I believe you be the lowest time possible. If you still think you can do better than that, feel free to try. Noog.

UPDATE

Well the chain of power shifts again. After two hours of play, Kevin struck back with a devestating 27:42. A very low time, that is definetly going to be hard to beat.

Alot of people might give up at a time like this, but I am going to continue. I WILL BEAT HIM OR DIE TRYING!@!

UPDATE

After over 6 months of nothing, someone has finally risen to the challenge and beaten kabuki's time, and that person is...wait a sec I forgot, hold on... GRIM! Yes Grim has achieved the marvelous time of: 26:62

What does this Excitebike demi-god have to say for himself? "When I was 12 my friends and I started the tradition of ending every excitebike race with a wipeout, whenever possible. You just weren't cool if you missed the chance to get the little guy tumbling head over kiester across the finish line. Of course, then there were the times when you crashed at the white line, jumped to your feet pumping your arms and hooting like a maniac, only to realize that you had just finished lap 1."

Is this as low as it gets? I think so! My friend has been spited, er spitten, er, well he got beat. HA HA HA HA HA!

UPDATE

Kabuki strikes back with an all time low score:

Don't feel bad Grim, he only beat you by a few miliseconds.

Ok, it's been a month and now Grim is once again in the lead. Earlier today he sent me an email saying he had beaten Kabuki.

Grim beat Kabuki's score by only a milisecond. OUCH!

A few hours later Grim surpassed his own score and achieved a 26:25! Incredibly low!

That is over three seconds less than when we started! Unbelievable!

Will Kabuki come back? I don't know. But I'm pretty sure he's gonna try.

The record has been broken once again. This time by newcomer Eric Wardell.

Eric wrote me awhile back and said:

hello twichyx (i didnt see your name on the website or if i did, i didnt catch it)

my name is eric wardell and i am going to beat that record on your website. i actually found your website through google.com, i was looking for exitebike and i like nester so i combined them in a search and came up with your website. i downloaded the stuff and after a while i became boerd (i was getting too good) so anyway i hit F7 and started playing this kevin guy's track. it is awsome, so after fully examining your website, i was determined to break the record. i have attached my savestate, if you want to see my record (right now i am at 26:73) and i belive i will soon beat the record. when i do, i will again email you my newest savefile.

thank you
- Eric

PS you might want to get the update on me beating the record started j/k

I read the email, made the jerking off motion with my hand, then went back to whatever the fuck I was doing.

Well two weeks later I get another message:

just as i said, ive dedicated myself to this game and iv finally beaten the record!! i actually acheaved the miraculus time of 26:14, and after doing that i spent another two days trying to beat 26 seconds, and i did. i had the most perfect upon perfect run and acheaved a time of 25:96!!! i amazed even myself. i have attached a screen shot of my victory scene (its in a zip file). wow. so anyway, i feel really good about myself.

- Eric

The kid actually came through, and came through big time. Since last year we've shaved over 3 seconds off the original record. Is 25:96 as fast as it gets? Only time will tell.

UPDATE

I received an email from someone claiming to have blown through the track in only TEN SECONDS! Check out the hilarious flash movie.
