This thing I found on the GameFAQs NES Board may or may not be a really dumb eBay auction. The guy selling it says that there's a 99% chance it's a Mega Man prototype, but I have the feeling he's 99% lying. There's no label, which looks pretty shady to me, and the first photograph has the words "Licensed by Nintendo" on the TV screen he's playing it on. Plus, the opening price for this thing is $999.99.
I think this guy's trying to pull my leg. Interpret it as you will, but I think this is a false auction. I thought the guy selling the "Nintendo Firebird XS" was stupid, but this guy is just a lunatic who thinks NES fans are brain-dead idiots.
This auction seemed a little fishy to me to. About a hour later I get another email.
I was right.
If you look at it now, you can tell that it says "Mega Man 1 No Label" and that it's being sold for one cent. It took this long for this guy to find out it's not a prototype. Here's the link again, in case you want to look at it now and see the changes.
This is a shoe-in for the stupid eBay auction section now. It wasn't before, but now it is, simply because it took him all day to find out it's the finished product. Way to go, Einstein, but it's too late. You've been laughed at by the NES Scene courtesy of me. I hope you're satisfied, you lying dirtbag.
So in a little over a hour he went from 99% positive he had a $1000 prototype on his hands to 100% positive he was trying to sell a labeless Mega Man nobody wants.

NES Firebird XS This guy is so fucking stupid he can't tell the diference between a sticker and a model version.
Some guy on GameFAQs found this auction. This guy is selling 2 N64s, business as usual. But his NES that he happens to be selling with them is "special". It happens to be the "Nintendo Firebird XS" system, which is the NES with the words "Firebird XS" on it.
The guy who found it Googled "Nintendo Firebird XS" and found nothing. This might be a fake. I tried it myself with just plain "Firebird XS" and all I got was a bunch of links about the Pontiac Firebird XS. I think the guy selling it took the "Firebird XS" decal off of said car and glued it to the NES, so this is probably a fake.

NES PC - This auction is actually for something pretty damn cool. I recently saw on of these on Tech TV, it's an actual working computer (complete with Windows XP) built into a NES case.

Gradius Confusion - This guy doesn't even know what game he's selling.

SMB/Duck Hunt for only $6 - What a deal!

ROMS for sale - Some guy selling roms on ebay for $20. Someone actually bid on it to.

Nintendo Cereal - Buyer beware, it may be a little stale. Who pays $50 for a ten year old box of cereal?

NWC Cart - Ok well, this one is not so stupid, but I still wanted to archive it so here it is, The NWC Cart in all it's glory.

Kid Icarus for $200 - This auction is somewhat debatable. Is a shrinkwrapped copy of Kid Icarus worth 200 bucks? I don't think so, but I've never had the money to collect new games.

Final Fantasy for $2,000 - OK, so this auction is probably some lame-ass trying to be funny, but I still think it fits nicely in this section.

Twenty-four Game Genies for sale - For $30 thats not such a bad deal, but you have to wonder why he would sell all $24 at once? What can the buyer possible want with all those Game Genies, except to turn around and sell them at an increased amount. This isn't it though. This seller had about 300 Game Genies for sale in about 5 auctions. He was sold fifty Game Genies for $40 to one guy. He has to be a Galoob employee pawning off stolen inventory.
Twelve NES control pads - The same guy is back, this time with controlers. I can't imagine anyone needing 12 NES control pads for anything, much less being willing to pay $20 for them.
UPDATE 9/1/03
Here's an email I received from a viewer.
I thought I would tell you one reason to buy smb/duckhut carts. Some people who have Eprom writers can replace the chips inside with with there own code or with the code from a rom. Just thought I'd let you know. FYI, the Funcoland by my house doesnt even take this game anymore.

The dude does make a valid point. The above would be a valid reason to purchase SMB/Duck Hunt, but not at those prices! You could easily get a dozen copies from Gamestop for the shipping costs alone.
Also, it doesn't surprise me that your Funcoland doesn't accept SMB/Duck Hunt carts anymore. Mine has about 1000 copies that haven't moved since the Reagen administration.
Popeye - $300 for a copy of Popeye, just because it's new. This guy is out of his mind. Popeye isn't even a rare game. And yes, I know in this day and age it's rare to see a black box game still shrinkwrapped, but come on, it's not triple-digit rare.
Doc's Fix a Pad for Broken NES Controllers - NES control pads cost nothing, yet this kit is going for $10. I wouldn't buy this p.o.s. if I broke a game pad everyday. Hell, I could get twelve for $20 from the before mentioned guy.
69 Sealed Copies of Impossible Mission 2* - Hey, I love Impossible Mission 2 as much as the next guy, but I don't need 69 copies of it.
* Submitted by Minkis
23 NES Games - Awesome, 23 new games to play!!!! Wait???? WTF!
This one is just really stupid. It kind of runs along the lines of the many copies of the same game area. 23 games would be great only if it was 23 different games. But, it's not.
Repeat offenders are:
3x Tecmo Bowl
2x Tecmo Super Bowl
2x Double Dribble
2x Bases Loaded II Second Season
4x Super Mario Bros.
5x Duck Hunt
