Smackdown Goodness

Links
Here you will find some great NES sites. I have looked over each of these sites and left a few comments. I've decided to drop the rating system because the average NES site has a life span of about six weeks, and rating undeveloped sites is pointless. Sites I think show the most promise, or are the best out there will have the noid featured next to them. This means that they are smackdown gt official kick ass sites.

If you have a NES site that's not listed here, just email me the URL. If you want me to link you your gonna have to link me though :)

So without further ado, here are the links.

  • The Warp Zone
A Really nice NES site. very interesting to see how the other half games. I read everything on there the first night I found it! 88%

  • NES Player
A great site with lots of funny articles, and information. Well organized, and very original. This is probably my favorite NES site. 90%

  • NES News
A very useful site. Find out what's new in the NES scene.

  • NES Alley
One of the few updated sites still around. Its got Bionic Commando and Milion's Secret Castle shrines, plus a whole lot of info on Rilo Kily (the band the chick from The Wizard is in). Check it out.
  • NES City
NES City, one of the oldest NES sites on the net still running, has been given a major facelift and merged with NES Monster. Yes the underdog of NES sites has finally grown up and truly become something great. And I don't mean to undersell Dave by implying that his site sucked before the merger, because that's not true at all. NES City was a great to begin with. This merger has only made it better. 85%

  • NES Times
This site has been around forever. When I first started in the NES scene I was gonna call my website NES Times, but then I found out that this site existed. 70%
  • NES World
Kinda like the encyclopedia. Informative but bland.
  • Console Passion

    Console Passion Retro Games

A good place to buy some retro games.

  • NES?
A very new NES site with a few sections. The one on Rambo is funny.
  • NES Phone
    Check out whose calling.

  • NES Achievers
If you've got what it takes to compete with the minions who devote their entire lives to accomplishing impossible NES feats, then I suggest you check NES Achievers out. You'd be surprised what some people are capable of. Jimmy Woods is out there!!!

  • NESgaming.com
A new site that just sprung up. Could be pretty good.
  • Mersenari
Another new site, but the webmaster has devotion!
  • NES Zone
NES Zone is also new, but the webmaster has been updating constantly and it's starting to really show. This site is a rare breed, one that doesn't waste it's time on useless reviews and codes. Instead it gives the people what they really wanna see, somebody blowing NES carts to pieces with firecrackers! There's alot of interesting info to be found as well, including a section that compares NES betas to final releases. Anybody looking for a current NES site should check this one out.

  • NESville
Although this site only has three sections right now, they're all pretty damn funny. NESville is a new site, which sole purpose so far seems to be making fun of different NES games. And as I can tell you, there ain't nothing wrong with that. Definitely check this one out.

  • NES Fountain
This is a NES site out of The Netherlands with a lot to offer. I don't know how, but this guy managed to track down about a dozen former Nintendo Game Counselors for interviews. There are also some very original articles to be found, including a list of the top 10 NES Valentine games. Nothing says love like a copy of Popeye.

  • RetroNES
By far the best Spanish NES site I've ever seen! Seriously though, it looks like it has alot of content so if you speak the language check it out.

  • NES Afterglow
This site is brand new, so there isn't much content yet, but hopefully that will change soon.

  • NES Site #0510
Like him or not, Slayer has a pretty good site on his hands. It's still getting started so not every thing is up yet, but NES Site #0510 definitely has potential. The old skool layout is great.

  • NES World Wide
Based on it's history, there's a good chance this site will be gone before you read this. Never the less, NWW is a classic site in the NES Scene, and if it C8b manages to return it to its former glory I'll be a very happy person.
